INASP Health: HIF-Net @ WHO report
Download publication files
HIF-net is an email discussion list dedicated to issues of health information access in resource-poor settings. It was launched in July 2000, initially as a joint initiative between INASP-Health/Health Information Forum and WHO. The list promotes cross-sectoral, worldwide communication among providers and users of health information: health professionals, librarians, publishers, NGOs, IT professionals, and international agencies.
After the discussion list had been operational for 18 months, an evaluation was undertaken. This identified the service strengths and weaknesses, and the impact that it was having on the communication of health issues throughout the world, to the benefit of the developing world. A report was compiled that looked at the use of the service, and feedback from users.
