Evidence Diagnostic at UNICEF

Evidence Diagnostic at UNICEF

Project description

UNICEF’s Strategic Plan (2018-2021) places ‘Evidence as a Driver of Change for Children’ at its heart. UNICEF has recently undertaken several interrelated initiatives to begin exploring and improving how it uses evidence in order to become a ‘knowledge broker for children’ with evidence identified as a key driver of change in the current Strategic Plan (2018-2021).

A joint INASP-Politics & Ideas team is working with the UNICEF Office of Research-Innocenti to complement these efforts by undertaking a participatory evidence diagnostic. Working in close collaboration with the UNICEF regional offices for South Asia and East & Southern Africa, the exercise includes desk reviews, webinars, interviews, workshops, and other activities to understand and respond to evidence issues at regional level.

The approach draws on the Context Matters Framework as well as UNICEF’s own emerging evidence principles.
