Nora Ndege Headshot

Nora joined INASP in January 2025 and works as the Engagement Lead and Project Manager for our Strengthening Science Diplomacy and Official Development Assistance Policy for Research Publishing Reform project. 

Nora Ndege is a Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) policy and development researcher with a focus on innovation for inclusive and sustainable development in Africa. With over 10 years of experience, she specializes in driving innovation for inclusive and sustainable development in Africa. 

Before joining INASP, Nora co-led the Research Innovation Management project at the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS).  In this role, she supported the Science Granting Councils (SGCs) across Africa in co-developing their research & innovation frameworks. Additionally, she co-led the Convening Fund project that supported the SGCs to convene policy focused multistakeholder events. Nora played a key role in a project focused on enhancing innovation capacities in East Africa by analysing the region's knowledge systems. Her work involved identifying effective strategies and addressing challenges to promote investments in science, technology and innovation. 

She has also led numerous stakeholder engagements and partnership initiatives within Kenya and across Africa. Notably, she organized several high-impact sessions including the 2020 SGCI Annual Forum in Tanzania, which convened representatives from 17 African countries and global partners

Nora is nearing completion of her PhD in Science and Technology Policy Studies at the University of Sussex. She also holds an MSc in Agricultural Information and Communication Management and a postgraduate diploma in Project Management.
