Unfortunately, this book is no longer in print.
Background
Marketing and Promotion of books and materials have been areas of concern for publishers in developing countries for several years. This guide is designed to provide a compendium of practical advice on all aspects of the field. It is particularly aimed to assist NGOs and small publishers. In preparing the manuscript, every effort was made to present the material in an attractive, simple, easy-to-follow style.
The Author
Bridget Impey is Marketing & Managing Director of David Philips Publishers, South Africa and has worked there for past 17 years. She has also been involved in training in South Africa for the Publishing Training Project and in facilitating Marketing workshops held in conjunction with the Zimbabwe International Book Fair in 1998, 1999 and 2000. Bridget was assisted by Maritza Hee Houng (Caribbean) and Peter Walton (Pacific).
Publishers
This book was jointly published with the ACP-EU Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Co-operation (CTA), which was established in 1983 under the Lom© convention between the ACP (African, Caribbean and Pacific) Group of States and the European Union Member States.
CTA's tasks are to develop and provide services that improve acess to information for agricultural and rural development, and to strengthen the capacity of ACP countries to produce, acquire, exchange and utilise information in this area. CTA's programmes are organised around four principal themes: developing information management and partnership strategies needed for policy formulation and implementation; promoting contact and exchange of experience; developing ACP partners with information on demand; and strengthening their information and communication capacities.
