Alex Ademokun

Alex joined the INASP's Evidence-Informed Policy Making (EIPM) team in 2011. Before this he studied and carried out research in immunology at King's College London and Cambridge University. His role at INASP involves planning and coordinating various aspects of the EIPM arm of PERii with a particular focus on capacity building in Africa.
Rebecca Bailey

As Countries Coordinator at INASP, Rebecca works closely with the PERii country coordinators from both partner and network countries, supporting their work in a variety of cross-cutting areas including: the joint development of country documentation (Memoranda of Understanding, annual coordinating agreements and country road maps); enabling Peer Experience Exchange Project (PEEP) visits; and working on the medium to long-term sustainability of the work in-country. She is also involved in organising the annual PERii Steering Committee meeting.
After graduating in Modern Languages (French and Italian), Rebecca spent three and a half years in China as an English teacher and teacher trainer with the development organisation Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO), before joining INASP in 2006.
Yin Bao

Originally from the east coast of China, Yin moved to the UK in 2003 to further her studies. After achieving an MSc in Tourism and International Hotel Management at Greenwich University and Oxford Brookes University, she decided to specialise in Accounts and Finance.
In addition to management roles with the Xinzhi hotel in China and the Marriott hotel chain in the UK, Yin was a member of the Accounts team at China Holidays, a travel agency specialising in travel between China and the UK.
Martin Belcher

Martin shares the post of Director of Programmes with Sara Gwynn. He is responsible for programmes direction with a particular focus on the monitoring and evaluation and impact assessment of all programme areas. This includes research design, data collection and analysis and reporting across all programme areas in this field. In addition he has line management responsibility for the areas of ICT training, libraries development and evidence informed policy making. Prior to his current role, Martin was head of programme for INASP's ICT training and bandwidth management and optimisation. He joined INASP in 2001 and, prior to that, his background was in Web based systems development, GIS and archaeological research. Martin is a remote member of INASP and is based in Sweden.
Julie Brittain

Julie is a professional librarian with more than twenty years experience working in the information sector, with a particular emphasis on ‘information for development’. In the past fifteen years she has worked extensively in Africa, including six years with the British Council based in Nairobi and seven years based in Zimbabwe. As well as managing libraries, Julie has worked as a lecturer and consultant, including assisting with the establishment of a human rights library in South Sudan and advising on the monitoring and evaluation of an Internet project for the Nigeria Law School in Abuja. Her most recent post prior to joining INASP was as Head of Library at the Institute of Development Studies, where she developed a range of services focused on the needs of development researchers.
Lucy Browse (née Barton)

Lucy leads INASP's relationships with international publishing partners and negotiates free and low-cost access to e-resources on behalf of INASP's partner and network countries. Her role includes enabling sustainable relationships between partners, increasing awareness and use of e-resources and enhancing routes to access for researchers. She has many years of experience in working within a sales and marketing capacity in both commercial and not-for-profit publishing sectors.
Peter Burnett

Peter Burnett works to build up the infrastructure of libraries and equip librarians with skills to effectively deliver services in the digital library environment. A graduate in Russian and East European Studies, he has worked in the universities of Birmingham, Lancaster, Washington and Oxford and spent 9 years as Head of Technical Services at the Bodleian Library. From 1994-2000 he served as Chair of George Soros' Open Society Institute Network Library Program, and has worked as a library consultant in parts of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. Peter joined INASP in 2008.
Antonio Capillo

Antonio joined the Evidence-Informed Policy Making Team in November 2011. Before joining INASP, Antonio achieved an MSc in Development Economics at the University of Sussex and gained fieldwork experience by collecting data for a census in Ecuador (2007) and carrying out monitoring and impact evaluation of an educational project in Nicaragua (2011). Antonio’s activity at INASP includes supporting the building of a strategy for evidence-informed policy making in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
Sue Corbett

Sue Corbett was formerly Managing Director for Medicine at John Wiley and Sons and has twenty five years of corporate management experience. Since 2009, she has been providing strategic and planning advice to several NGOs including Saha Astitva, a conservation and poverty alleviation trust in India and the Global Peacebuilding Strategy.
Sioux Cumming

Sioux works on the Journals Online (JOL) where there are now five JOLs (BanglaJOL, NepJOL, PhilJOL, SLJOL and VJOL). Sioux identifies new journals to be included, works with the editors of the journals to load new issues and keeps the information about the journals as up to date as possible. She records the statistics relating to the usage of the sites and produces the newsletters for each of them. Sioux is also involved in training in the publishing workshops and she assists in the AuthorAID project. Prior to joining INASP, Sioux was a lecturer in Zimbabwe for 23 years where she was also the editor and manager of a journal for a number of years.
Fran Deans

Fran joined INASP in January 2011 as part of the Evidence-Informed Policy Making team. With a PhD in social anthropology, Fran has worked for several years abroad as a researcher and programme officer. Her most recent assignments were working in Albania and Burundi to promote and support volunteerism for development. Fran's role at INASP involves coordinating the organisation's internship programme and supporting researchers in Africa in building their capacity to communicate effectively with policy makers and influencers.
Emma Farrow

Emma joined INASP in May 2009. She contributes to the development, delivery and evaluation of a range of library, information use and management, and ICT-related training activities. Emma has an MA in Information and Library Studies from Manchester Metropolitan University and has worked both at the University of the West of England and for VSO in Sri Lanka. Her other professional activities have included work with the UK-based charity Partnerships in Health Information (Phi) which has involved her in projects in a number of developing and transitional countries.
Liam Finnis

Liam leads and implements INASP's communication strategy, including design and maintenance of the INASP website, editing and distribution of the newsletter, promotional materials and publications.
Liam studied Mass Communications at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. After graduating in 2004 he lived in Japan and Australia, before moving to the UK in July of 2007 and joining INASP in early 2008. Liam has worked in a variety of areas, including both the education and charitable sectors, and has experience in journalism, television production and event management.
Les Haynes

A qualified Chartered Accountant, Les joined INASP in 2010 bringing with him over 10 years previous experience of financial management within the Charity sector.
He has a Diploma in Charity Accounting and as the Financial Controller at INASP he is responsible for all financial and contractual arrangements within the organisation.
Eileen Kennedy

Eileen joined INASP in 2011 as the Administrative Officer. She has a degree in Psychology & Anthropology and a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Health. Eileen has extensive experience as an Administrator, PA and Office Manager, much of it in the NHS, higher education and research.
Martha Lee

Martha is working part-time as the Journals Online Administrator until the middle of 2012. She is assisting with the loading of the content onto the JOLs. Before this, Martha was an intern at INASP during the summer of 2011. Martha is currently studying Classics at the University of Oxford.
Ravi Murugesan

Ravi joined the AuthorAID project in March 2011. He is involved in developing an e-learning system for AuthorAID and facilitating workshops on research writing. Before joining INASP, Ravi worked at Cactus Communications in Bombay for five years in editorial and education management roles. He received a master's degree in engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the US, where he was also an Honorary Fellow, and is certified by the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences.
Kirsty Newman

Kirsty heads INASP's Evidence-Informed Policy Making programme. The programme aims to build the demand for research from policy makers and to support researchers to effectively supply policy relevant research information. After carrying out a PhD in HIV research at Edinburgh University, Kirsty worked for three and a half years as a malaria immunology researcher at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Prior to joining INASP in 2009, she worked for a major UK science funder focusing on capacity building activities for research in Africa.
Anne Powell

Anne works in Information Delivery in both publisher and country-facing activities. She works with publishers to ensure that PERii's processes and systems meet the needs of publishers while offering optimum access to the resources by researchers. She assists country coordinators and librarians with selection of and access to online resources, with collection and interpretation of usage statistics and with raising awareness of the resources by researchers.
Anne worked as a librarian and library educator in Zimbabwe for 21 years before joining INASP in 2002.
Julie Walker

Julie joined INASP as Head of Publishing Support in July 2007, having worked for a leading scientific publisher for eight years. The remit of the role is to oversee the planning, development and implementation of the Publishing Support programme including the AuthorAID project. She has lived and worked in Africa and Asia.
