Bioline International: A not-for-profit scholarly publishing cooperative committed to providing Open Access to quality research journals published in developing countries. These journals contain research on topics such as: public health; international development; tropical medicine; food and nutritional security; and biodiversity. 

Directory of Open Access Books is a discovery service for peer reviewed books published under an Open Access license. DOAB provides a searchable index to the information about these books, with links to the full texts of the publications at the publisher's website or repository.

Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ): DOAJ covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals, covering all subjects and languages.

eIFL eIFL.net is an independent foundation that strives to lead, negotiate, support and advocate for the wide availability of electronic resources by library users in transition and developing countries. Its main focus is on negotiating affordable subscriptions on a multi-country consortial basis, while supporting the enhancement of emerging national library consortia in member countries.

IMARK: The Information Management Resource Kit (IMARK) is a partnership-based e-learning initiative to train individuals and support institutions and networks world-wide in the effective management of agricultural information. IMARK consists of a suite of distance learning resources, tools and communities on information management. There are separate portals in French and Spanish

Research4life: The collective name for three programmes (HINARI, AGORA and OARE), Research4Life provides developing countries with free or low cost access to academic and professional peer-reviewed content online.

  • AGORA  The AGORA program, set up by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) together with major publishers, enables developing countries to gain access to an outstanding digital library collection in the fields of food, agriculture, environmental science and related social sciences. AGORA provides a collection of 1900 journals.
  • HINARI The HINARI Programme, set up by WHO together with major publishers, enables developing countries to gain access to one of the world's largest collections of biomedical and health literature. More than 7,000 journal titles are now available.
  • OARE (Online Access to Research in the Environment):  Online Access to Research in the Environment (OARE), an international public-private consortium coordinated by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Yale University, and leading science and technology publishers, enables developing countries to gain access to one of the world's largest collections of environmental science research. Over 2,990 peer reviewed titles owned and published by over 340 prestigious publishing houses and scholarly societies are now available. 

The Essential Electronic Agricultural Library (TEEAL): TEEAL offers full-text access to 150+ of the world's most important journals in agricultural sciences. TEEAL's off-line collection provides access to subjects including: microbiolog; natural resources; veterinary medicine; food science and nutrition; and plant breeding. TEEAL is available to eligible institutions in 112 countries worldwide.

WorldWideScience.org provides one-stop searching of national and international scientific databases and portals. This enables anyone with internet access to launch a single-query search of 32 national scientific databases and portals from 52 countries. Users can search more than 200 million pages of science and technology information not typically accessible through popular search engines. Some of the resources that you will be cross searching via WorldWideScience include DOAJ and all the Journals Online projects (JOLs).
