Bandwidth Management and Optimisation (BMO): Linux introductory, Basic and Advanced Network Technical Training workshops, 4 - 15 May 2009, La Paz, Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA), BoliviaFollowing an earlier consultation visit, Christian Benvenuti returned to Bolivia to work with the PERii Country Coordination team in the implementation of three technical training workshops. The content was designed to address problems experienced with network connectivity and bandwidth challenges adversely impacting delivery and resourcing of electronic information services. Over forty ICT staff from a number of the local universities attended the workshops. Feedback indicated appreciation of the opportunity to develop skills and help address such issues at their own institutions. Comments included:
"El evento fue muy útil ya que dieron a conocer varias herramientas y métodos para poder realizar un mejor trabajo de Administración y Gestión de Red (The event was very useful as it unveiled several tools and methods to be able to improve network administration and management)".
Due to the nature of this subject area there is still need for future and ongoing training. The National PERii Country Coordination team are considering how this need can best be addressed going forward.
