2008
Developing a Digital Repository, BRAC University, Bangladesh, 26 June 2008
This one day workshop, attended by 35 participants, was presented to share experiences resulting from the setting up of an institutional repository at BRAC University. A session on the challenges now faced, such as sustainability and how to maximise usage of this excellent facility, enabled discussion on future plans. It is hoped that similar facilities will be created at other institutions leading to the overall aim expressed to make an institutional repository network of university libraries in Bangladesh for a dramatic change in library and information services.
Bangladesh Journals Online (BanglaJOL) Editorial Workshop, Centre for Scientific Excellence, Dhaka, Bangladesh, March 31- April 3 2008
An Editorial Workshop for editors of journals on the Bangladesh Journals Online (BanglaJOL) website was held at the Centre for Scientific Excellence, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event was organised by the University of Dhaka and attended by editors of journals on BanglaJOL and those who wished to be included in the future. They learned about the activities and responsibilities of an editorial office and how to use the online peer review system available on the BanglaJOL website in order to receive and process articles for their journals.

2007
Effective use of e-resources available via PERI ICDDR,B, Dhaka, 23-25 October 2007
This workshop was attended by 36 participants from 23 national institutions and was organised in conjunction with BAS (Bangladesh Academy of Sciences) and ICDDR,B. It focused on reviewing the PERI resources available within Bangladesh and strengthening the knowledge and skills in planning and implementation of user outreach and training programmes on the effective use of online information resources.
Strategic Journals Publishing Workshop May, 2007
The workshop was held at the Centre for Scientific Excellence, and was organised by the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was attended by 20 editors representing 20 journals. Issues discussed were the production of journals, promotion strategies and online issues. All the participants agreed to the formation of a Bangladesh Journals Online (BanglaJOL).
