Emerald/CLADEA Library Information Science research award: Latin America

Emerald Publishing and the Latin American Council of Management Schools (CLADEA) are offering a research grant for a Latin American project in the field of management. The award will offer £2,000 (US$3,000 equivalent) to fund the winning research project.

Applications should address the dissemination of knowledge for social good with a specific orientation toward benefit for Latin America.

Eligibility
Any researcher is eligible to apply, provided that the proposal pertains, and is of benefit, to Latin America; however, at least one member of the research team must either be a Latin American national or be based in Latin America. 

Judging criteria
Each application will be judged, by a panel of experts, on the following criteria. The research must:

  • Be of significance and, in particular, illustrate how it will benefit the social good.
  • Demonstrate originality and innovation.
  • Make an outstanding contribution to theory and its application.
  • Illustrate the appropriateness and application of the methodology.
  • Demonstrate sound implications for theory and practice.

The closing date for applications is 1 August 2011.
