Jurisprudence of International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda
In fulfilling its mandate which is to prosecute the persons responsible for genocide and other serious violations of International Humanitarian Law committed in the territory of Rwanda, between 1 January 1994 and 31 December 1994, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (www.ictr.org) has produced an invaluable public domain judicial literature made of indictments, decisions, orders and judgements. This jurisprudence is acknowledged by legal practionners worldwide. The Legal Library Section of the Tribunal has further pulled together all its judicial publications in what is called "ICTR Basic Documents and Case Law Database" This is an over 6000-entry database (www.ictrcaselaw.org) comprising all the official documents of the Tribunal ( the statutes, the rules of procedures and evidences, the budget, other Security Council and United Nations official documents on ICTR etc.) and more importantly all the decisions issued from 1995 to present. The Database is bilingual and fully searchable.
