The Cochrane Library is a collection of databases that contain high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making. Cochrane reviews represent the highest level of evidence on which to base clinical treatment decisions. In addition to Cochrane reviews, The Cochrane Library provides other sources of reliable information, from other systematic review abstracts, technology assessments, economic evaluations and individual clinical trials – all the current evidence in one single environment
Titles of journals/products
A collection of 7 high class evidence-based medicine databases enabling clinicians to make informed decisions about healthcare.
Databases are:
1. The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews: features over 2,400 full text articles reviewing the effects of healthcare.
2. The Cochrane Database of Methodology Reviews: includes the full text of systematic reviews of empirical methodological studies prepared by The Cochrane Empirical Methodological Studies Methods Group.
3. The Cochrane central register of Controlled Trials: features over 415,000 trials.
4. The Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects: contains structured abstracts of systematic reviews from around the world, which have been critically appraised by reviewers at the NHS Centre for Reviews and Dissemination.
5. The NHS Economic Evaluation Database: features over 14,500 evaluations.
6. Health technology Assessment Database: features over 3,900 assessments.
7. The Cochrane Methodology Register: presents a bibliography of publications that report on methods used in the conduct of controlled trials.

Service strengths
- Saved Search Alerts: Retrieve and re-run detailed search queries in My Profile or set Saved Search email Alerts to notify you whenever new content that matches the specified search is published online.
- Citation Tracking: Citation Tracking allows you to view published works that have cited an article you are currently reading by selecting citations from journals on Wiley InterScience and other publisher sites. Citation Tracking is accessible only for licenced publications.
- Citation Download: Download abstracts and citations from online books and journals directly into reference management software applications such as Endnote.
