User Information Literacy: Case studies from university library programmes in the SCANUL-ECS region
With the increasing complexity of information and information resources, the effectiveness of teaching and learning at the university level relies on students and their teachers having the necessary information skills. This volume provides an analysis of the information literacy programmes undertaken in the SCANUL-ECS region. Each study covers the development of user education, information literacy (IL) strategies, programme content, who does the teaching, how the programme has been evaluated, the challenges faced and plans for the future.
Compiled at the request of SCANUL-ECS, the book aims to provide an impetus for the further development of IL programmes among its member libraries, through the sharing of experiences. It will also be of interest to all those concerned with the development of libraries in Africa.
