E-resources access and usage institutional workshops, Consejo Nacional de Universidades (CNU), Universidad Nacional Agraria (UNA), Managua.  8-12 September 2008
Maidelyn Diaz Perez ( Cuba) facilitated institutional access training and incorporating e-resources into websites for 10 of the CNU Universities over four days.  Following this, additional libraries attended an introductory one day event. Feedback received has been very positive and sharing examples of web pages helped to illustrate the usefulness of this approach in maximising usage of resources.

NOTE:  Additional e-resource workshops were conducted at the end of October 2008 for researchers and scholars. Participants were made up of representatives from BICU, EIAG RIVAS, UNA, UNAN-Leon, UNAN-Managua and UNI

Programme for the enhancement of research (PERii) and Resources Awareness training workshop, Consejo Nacional de Universidades (CNU), Managua, 24-26 June 2008
This first national workshop as part of the PERii and CNU agreement focused on the selection and content of the resources which are available through this programme.  The Country Coordinator Ruth Velia, organised the workshop as a follow up to a number of individual institutional events she had presented.  This event was facilitated by Maidelyn Diaz Perez from Cuba (Lead) and Patricia Villalobos from Honduras.  The 52 participants were divided into 3 sets based on their thematic interests, each attending for one day. This enabled information needs for an area of knowledge to be prioritized and reflected in the presentation of resources.  Participants and facilitators expressed their appreciation of the opportunity this event enabled and the relevance of the resources which they were invited to consider.
