Information Literacy Workshop

Information literacy october 2008The Library Development Programme sponsored ten librarians to attend the recent Unesco Training the Trainers in Information Literacy workshop, held at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, October 4 6, 2008.

The aim was to provide Information Literacy instructors and potential trainers with specialized, authoritative, comprehensive and up-to-date training knowledge, and bring them together to discuss and share information on current issues, theories, teaching and learning approaches and methods, and professional best practices regarding Information Literacy education and training.

The INASP participants came from Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, and all have expressed a keen interest in continuing their collaboration with INASP to develop and enhance their information literacy activities both locally and nationally.
