Evidence-Informed Policy Making
How can public institutions improve the use of knowledge in policy making?
INASP’s Evidence-Informed Policy Making team supports government departments, parliaments and other public bodies to improve the way they use evidence in their work. We believe that systematic use of a range of evidence in policy making requires:
- Individuals in public institutions with the skills, knowledge and awareness to access, appraise and use evidence and to lead change in their workplaces.
- Organisational processes, cultures and procedures which encourage and facilitate the effective use of evidence.
- Sustainable networks linking evidence producers and users across the national research to policy system.
We strengthen the demand for evidence by collaborating with partners across the research to policy system including think tanks, universities, Non-Governmental Organisations, ministries, parliaments and civil service training colleges.
