The following materials were developed for a KENET training and briefing workshop on policy development to support effective bandwidth management and optimisation within a University environment in Kenya. The workshop will be run in conjunction with INASP and TENET and is targeted at KENET members who would like to address key issues of bandwidth management and optimisation at an institutional level.

Outcomes

After the workshop all participants will have:

  • examined the importance of a supportive policy environment for successful BMO
  • reviewed key policies and an appropriate policy development framework
  • reviewed BMO supportive policies
  • created an institutional level policy development action plan

Target participants

This workshop is specifically aimed at the following categories of people:

  • ICT/Computer centre director and/or deputy director responsible for ICT policy development and implementation
  • other senior staff responsible for the development and implementation of ICT and related policies
  • head librarians or senior library staff who will be involved in the development and implementation of ICT and related policies
