E-journals and e-resources library management workshop

This workshop is designed as a five day hands-on workshop with a mixture of presentations, computer based exercises, small group work and discussions. However, all of the modules used in the workshop are designed to be stand alone and so could be put together in any combination that was felt to be appropriate.

Learning Objectives

This course will provide participants with:

  • an introduction to the full range of e-journals and scholarly databases available online
  • a demonstration of the range of e-resources available to participants
  • a hands-on experience in using and accessing available e-resources
  • an introduction and review of activities associated with the resources
  • an examination of copyright and licensing implications for e-journal and scholarly database usage
  • an opportunity to develop ideas, strategies and policies for e-resources and journal management within a university library environment

Note: This workshop was designed in relation to e-resources available through the Programme for the Enhancement of Research Information (PERI).
