Haseeb Md. Irfanullah describes his experience as an AuthorAID mentor and why passionate mentors and enthusiastic researchers are instrumental to developing strong research culture. After the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences invited him to design and deliver an AuthorAID research communication workshop, he quickly applied for a grant to undertake another, and then another.

It was an excellent experience — I loved it! I loved it so much that within a few short months I applied for an AuthorAID workshop grant to run a similar workshop for the Bangladesh Association of Plant Taxonomists.

Haseeb has a wide range of experience in diffrent roles including researcher, editor and trainer with particular interest in research communication. He is Head of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Programme Practical Action Bangladesh and Executive Editor for the Bangladesh Journal of Plant Taxonomy.
