It is with great sadness that INASP learnt today that Agatha Kabugu has passed away. Agatha was Acting Director of Library Services at the University of Nairobi, where she had spent much of her career, and the current Treasurer of the Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium (KLISC). She recounted some of her experiences in this case study. She also served as INASP’s country coordinator for many years.

Agatha was a talented leader in Kenya’s higher education system, passionate about the role that information and knowledge play in development. She was a tireless and energetic driver of KLISC’s work, and that of her own library, to support research and teaching in Kenya. She was also a generous and patient colleague to many across the African continent and beyond and a pleasure to work with.

Agatha brought a huge amount to INASP’s work and she will be deeply and sorely missed. INASP offers our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and colleagues at this painful time.
