Putting Research Knowledge at the Heart of Development

Publishers

INASP works with publishers to enable affordable and sustainable access to online resources to developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We work with national consortia or equivalent bodies so that they can meet the information needs of their researchers.

In a process mediated by INASP, consortia select appropriate resources for their research needs and limited budgets. Publishers then provide discounted (sometimes free) access through their own platforms. Resources are offered on a country-level licence to eligible not-for-profit education and research institutions.

We urge publishers to engage responsibly with our partner countries to support genuinely sustainable and effective access and we have written some principles about how to do so.

The 2015 Publishers for Development conference, in London on 30 June, explored these issues further. Click here for more information.
